"Picture us married, you and me F.U.C.K.I.N.G."

* I love that song by Nas, don't you?

* I have a stupid cough that will not go away. Prolly has something to do withthe fact that it was 99 degrees one day last week and 65 degrees the next and 55 degrees the whole time here at work.

* I AM FAT! I have NOT been working out. My day started on a bad note...with not being able to fit into ANY of my pants. I felt like a fat ass. I'm going to have to buy some size 12 pants. I'm threw with life.

* My daughter got a sticker in class yesterday. So all that tough love I had to give her last week (five pops on the butt and two days with out TV) paid off.

* My sister brought my neice over on Sunday, which sparked a conversation with Vh1 about babies....I thought he and I had decided on a timeline for such things....it appears that he's been pondering things... I don't like it.

* This coffee I drank this morning has me with the shakes.

* Why has the bank not sent me a new pin for my ATM card?

* Why does Lotus notes jump to the front when I have a new email?

* My ears are ringing. I heard once that when your ear ring that that's the sound of you ear cells dying and that you will never hear that frequency again. I just read that that's an old wives tale.

* I'm sleepy...But there's really no reason for my sleepiness....go figure?

* I really am falling in love.
In a type of love that I really never thought existed for me. I really was feeling like this type of connection was not possible. But you know what blogger I am amazed everday with how much I've really grown. This is some new fangled type love. A love that has me dizzy and crazy and out of my mind and yet still so perfectly in tune. A love that I am not afraid of (For the first time). A love that I feel open and free and want everyone I know to know about. A love that I think about and appreciate all day. A love that is reciprocated.

* Vh1 made me scallops, rice&beans, and salad made of avacados, mango and nectarines for dinner last night. He fixed my plate , brought it and the phone to me and said "tell your friends!" I said "What?" he said "call your girls and tell them how I do it! They gon be jealous... They don't get it like you got it baby! You get it all day everyday"
Don't you love him?

* I need some new music!

I HEART music.

I love music.

As I was driving to work this morning, the morning station that I listen to played "The Sweetest Thing" By Lauryn Hill. I almost had an accident as I screamed with excitement. I felt tingly in my hands. Felt like I could explode. Tears formed. It was a happiness I couldn't explain. Something like seeing a family memember I hadn't seen in a while.

There are some songs that I feel so connected to, it's as if I lived them myself.

I could not see my life with out music. Everything I do I can relate to a beat. Working, driving, speaking, parenting, loving, orgasming,. There are some songs that I wish I could breath...songs and words and verses that I wish I could inhale. Even some songs I wish I could cut apart and eat, consume them like a hot meal.

I've got an ongoing rhythm in my head. Not an annoying shoot your co-wokers sound....A life is moving and shaping and growing and becoming and stopping and starting and flowing and haulting all at the same time type sound.

Inspirational, Emotional, Grimy, Intimate, Gritty, Comical, the adjectives could just grow.

Does anyone feel me?

Background Music

I Try
by Talib Kweli Lyrics

Yeah, yeah
New Talib Kweli
Yeah, you know what it is
Come on, come on, yeah
Hey yo

[Mary J. Blige]
I try, I try (that's all we can do)
I try, you know I try
I try, I try (yeah)
I try, you know I try

[Verse 1: Talib Kweli]
K. West! Kweli!
Got searched on the plane, Arabic first name
Disturbed by the fame just like Kurt Cobain
Breath of life, kiss of death, my lips pursed the same
You flirt 'til she came
Nothin' hurt like the pain and torture
Daughters of the dust lookin' for a vein
Something to take in vain like the Lord's name
Put your hands together, got 'em all sayin'

[Hook: Mary J. Blige]
I try, I try
I try, you know I try
I try, I try
I try, you know I try

[Verse 2: Talib Kweli]
Yo, it's all ghetto in gear higher, the floor settle
More metal for beef that we don't let the law settle
I try to navigate the treacherous waters of
America's ghettos that set up the slaughteres
But there's more of us
Although we speak in different languages
We all pretty familiar with what anger is
Young and dangerous, ??
Get up on some gangsta shit
Guns to bang ya wit
'And we put it on records to entertain ya wit'
I'm grown with pains way deeper than Mike Seavers
Our uniforms is white sneakers and white T-shirts
On top of wife beaters
We like to light reefers
The 'hood need us for rappers, just ain't the right leaders
I put a lot into it
This is my product and I gotta move it
Stop the industry but you can't stop the music

[Interlude: Mary J. Blige]
An upside down kingdom where life is just not fair (upside down kingdom)
Some many sufferin' cuz deep inside they're scared (so scared)
Fear pumped into their veins to keep them from their destiny
Where would they be if you and I don't care?

[Hook: Mary J. Blige]
I try, I try, you know I try
I try, I try, I try, you know I try

[Verse 3: Talib Kweli]
Yo, the things I'm seein' on the news is insane
A stock broker shoot his kid and throw himself in front of a train
A mother leave her baby home for two weeks all by himself
Three years old, eatin' ketchup and mustard, cryin for help
Tryin' to bring your struggle to life
The label want a song about a bubbly life
I have trouble tryin' to write some shit
To BANG in the club through the night
When people suffer tonight
Lord knows I try

[Hook: Mary J. Blige]
I try, I try, I try, you know I try
I try, I try, I try, you know I try[

Interlude: Talib Kweli]
Life is a beautiful struggle
People search through the rubble for a suitable hustle
Some people usin' the noodle, some people usin' the muscle
Some people put it all together, make it fit like a puzzle
Come on, say it nowLife is a beautiful struggle
People search through the rubble for a suitable hustle
Some people usin' the noodle, some people usin' the muscle
Some people put it all together, yeah

[Outro: Mary J. Blige]
I try, I try, you know I try
I try, oh Lord I try
Everyday I

[Mary J. Bliges harmonizes with the beat]
Upside down kingdom
Oh, they're so scared
Everyday on the news we can't look around with
something somewhere
I try, I try, you know I try
I try, I try, I try, you know
I tryLord knows, Lord knows we try
Yeah

really, do i need to say anything else?

"Nothing Even Matters" -Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill

Now the skies could fall
Not even if my boss should call
The world it seems so very small'
Cause nothing even matters at all

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters at all
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters at all

See I don't need no alcohol
Your love makes me feel ten feet tall
Without it I'd go through withdrawal'
Cause nothing even matters at all

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters at all
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters at all

These buildings could drift out to sea
Some natural catastrophe
Still there's no place I'd rather be
'Cause nothing even matters to me

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters to me
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters to me

You're part of my identity
I sometimes have the tendency
To look at you religiously
'Cause nothing even matters to me

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters to me
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters to me

Now you won't find me at no store
I have no time for manicures
With you it's never either or
'Cause nothing even matters no more

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters no more
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters no more

Now my team could score
And make it to the Final Four
Just repossess my 4x4'
Cause nothing even matters no more

Nothing even matters Nothing even matters no more
Nothing even matters Nothing even matters no more

*i think i'm trying to get a cold. i keep snifflin...i knew putting my daughter in preschool would bring home the pathogens!

*bigsis is pissed at me because i told her she needs to start beating the shit out of my little nephew. she got pissed but, fuck, its the truth! the boy is hell fire.
+
she needs hit his ass with a quick upper cut to the gut. to hell with the fact that he's 5. he smart enough to tell my sister that she needs to get a tummy tuck, he smart enough to get thrown across the room.
+
she ain't called or nothing. whatever. the rest of the family keep tip toeing around the issue. she can be pissed if she want to but, she bet not ask me for no bail money when he get 12.
+

*my daughter had an allergic reaction on monday. (she's ok...she's allergic to everything, I think my devil seed nephew gave her some of his eggs on sunday evening and it caused her to break out or she's allergic to the new bed tent I brought her from Ikea)I had to take her to the hospital, which meant I couldn't go into work.
+
why did my boss get pissed at me and try to write me up?
+
had i been in a bad mood she would have felt the pimp the hand of JENNY. aint' had to use it in a while but I still remember how.

*why did bullshit ass ken (the guy with the boys n the hood outfit) tell my sister's boyfriend SS that I just stopped calling him for no reason...he know his ass was wrong for that outfit. There WAS a reason! with his silk pant suit.

that's it. kisses

wanted to share a little piece of me...

This is one of those songs that is so real, so genuine, so beautiful, so honest that it has truely affected me as a person. It's one of those songs that I definitely would put on my life soundtrack.

Back in the days, when my daughter's dad and I had just met, when we were oh-so-happy in love, way before we moved in together and way way before I got pregnant with My. I found out that I was pregnant. Well he and I argued and went back and forth on considering an abortion and in the mist of that, I had a miscarraige.

That was one of the most difficult things I've ever dealt with. Afterwards I didn't know if I was happy or if I should believe the part of me that was sad....I ended up having my daughter a year and a half later, so you decide what I really felt....

Common Sense - Retrospect for Life :

Yo, we gotta start respectin life more y'all
You look at your brother man you gotta see yourself
Gotta see the God within him
Brothers gettin changed real quick over nothin
We losin too many of ours
Gotta recreate y'all
Yo, check it

Knowin you the best part of life, do I have the right to take yours
Cause I created you, irresponsibly
Subconciously knowin the act I was a part of
The start of somethin, I'm not ready to bring into the world
Had myself believin I was sterile
I look into mother's stomach, wonder if you are a boy or a girl
Turnin this woman's womb into a tomb
But she and I agree, a seed we don't need
You would've been much more than a mouth to feed
But someone, I woulda fed this information I read
to someone, my life for you I woulda had to leave
Instead I lead you to death
I'm sorry for takin your first breath, first step, and first cry
But I wasn't prepared mentally nor financially
Havin a child shouldn't have to bring out the man in me
Plus I wanted you to be raised within a family
I don't wanna, go through the drama of havin a baby's momma
Weekend visits and buyin J's ain't gon' make me a father

For a while bearing a child is somethin I never wanted to do
For me to live forever I can only do that through you
Nerve I got to talk about them niggaz with a gun
Must have really thought I was God to take the life of my son
I could have sacrificed goin out
To think my homies who did it I used to joke about,
from now onI'ma use self control instead of birth control
Cause $315 ain't worth your soul
$315 ain't worth your soul
$315 ain't worth it

[Lauryn Hill (two layers of vocals, same words)]
I, never dreamed you'd leave, in summer
You said you would be here when it rained
[Common] YoWhy didn't you stay

Seeing you as a present and a gift in itself
You had our child in you, I probably never feel what you felt
But you dealt with it like the strong black woman you are
Through our trials and tribulations, child's elimination
An intergration of thoughts I feel about the situation
Back and forth my feelings was pacin

Happy deep down but not joyed enough to have it
But even that's a lie in less than two weeks, we was back at it
Is this unprotected love or safe to say it's lust
Bustin, more than the sweat in somebody you trust
Or is it that we don't trust each other enough
And believe, havin this child'll make us have to stay together
Girl I want you in my life cause you have made it better
Thinkin we all in love cause we can spend a day together
We talkin spendin the rest of our lives
It's too many black women that can say they mothers
but can't say that they wives

I wouldn't chose any other to mother my understanding
But I want our Parenthood to come from Planning
It's so much in my life that's undone
We gotta see eye to eye, about family, before we can become one
If you had decided to have it the situation I wouldn't run from
But I'm walkin, findin myself in my God
So I can, discipline my son with my writin
Not have a judge tellin me how and when to raise my seed
Though his death was at our greed, with no one else to blame
I had a book of Afrikan names, case our minds changed
You say your period hasn't came, and lately I've been sleepy
So quit smokin the weed and the beadies and let's have this boy

[Lauryn Hill]
I, never dreamed you'd leave in summer
You said you would be here when it rained
You said you would be here when it rained
Ohh I, never dreamed you'd leave in summer
Now the situation's made things change
Things change
Why, didn't you stay
Why didn't you stay...I, never dreamed you'd leave, in summer
In summer
You said you would be here when, it rained
When it rained, it rained
Ohhhohh I, never dreamed, you'd leave in summer
You said you wouldn't leave
Now the situation's made things change
Things change, why didn't you stay?
Stay, stay stay stay stay stay stayMmmmm, stayyy
Uh-uh
Ohh why didn't you stay..
